  1. I’m a bit surprised you’ve not mentioned the ability to be seen by colour choice ! Especially for a new rider , his choices are all dark , yes it is a personal choice.

  2. When budgeting for a bike, it is imperative to reasonably budget for your gear. To be realistic, irrespective of what bike you get, your impact will be reliant on (a). your speed, (b). your direction and mechanics of fall, and (c). The other vehicle(s) involved (if any) and & the Ground &/or Road Furniture. Definitely AA+ where possible. Consider bringing nothing less than 1000 with you where possible. You don’t have to spend it all. What’s left over can be a good night out, a treat for yourself or an accessory for your bike.
